Readers PromisE4 funded through a grant from George W. Jenkins within the GiveWell Community

Fundamentals for Kids Inc. is thrilled to receive a $5,000 grant from George W. Jenkins within the GiveWell Community Foundation to implement the Readers PromisE4 program at Lake Alfred Elementary this summer. The project consists of a series of five read aloud workshops. Professional literacy volunteers model effective reading strategies and engage children in meaningful discussions, complete with engaging activities to build reading comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency. A set of twelve high-quality, high-interest children's books were presented to each child to build personal libraries, increasing the accessibility of quality literature in the home. The program enriches children’s literary experiences and develops skillsets to empower children to become active stewards of their education and productive members of society.
