YOUNG AUTHORS PUBLISH BOOKS
Forty-five young authors conceived, designed, wrote, illustrated, and published their very own hardcover books this summer! When asked about their favorite part of creating their own books, student responses included: "drawing, having fun, creative writing, publishing, keeping the book, creating the cover art, taking the time to write my own story!"
At Fundamentals for Kids, we believe when children are encouraged to write about what they know and love, when they are given an authentic reason to write, and an opportunity to publish their work, they begin to think about books and writing in new and meaningful ways. They learn the importance of their own stories while developing imagination, wonder, and vital communication skills. These books are a testament to children's literacy as they preserve and celebrate children's handwriting, illustrations, and creative expressions.
